BEYOND THE EXPEDITION
RUNNING THE SAHARA

A one-hour television special produced for LivePlanet and aired on National Geographic Channel, which chronicles a 30-person expedition as they document an attempt by three ultra marathoners to run across the entire length of Africa's Sahara Desert as part of the feature documentary, “Running the Sahara.“

The athletes are Charlie Engle from the United States, Kevin Lin from Taiwan, and Ray Zahab from Canada. Their goal is to run through the countries of Senegal, Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Libya, and finish at the Red Sea in Egypt - approximately two marathons per day, for eighty days, without a day off.
